Worship Area at High Street Methodist Church
Worship at High Street can take place in any of the rooms in the buildings but our largest area is used for Sunday morning and evening services. The area has free standing chairs and these are moved around to suit the style of worship or the event taking place at the time. Normally as you'll see from the 'photos below we have a slightly raised platform upon which the lectern, table and font are placed and this is surrounded by a communion rail. All of the furniture was made by one of High Street's members. The views shown below are across the narrow width of the area. This has the big advantage of all present being "in the round". We sometimes turn it through 90 degrees and have the worship lengthways however with the more traditional setting of the organ at the front instead of at the side - variety is good! The area seats around 300.
