School Building Project

The Project

High Street Methodist Church is already a prominent community building in the centre of Witney.  it is a hub for community events, a meeting place for community organisations and home for some local charities.

Situated behind the church, the Old School Building is now empty having been vacated 2 years ago by The King's School.  The Appeal is raising funds to enable the renovation and update of the building to make it a valuable community resource in the heart of Witney.  Phase 1 has a cost of £200,000 and would refurbish the section immediately behind the church opening up several rooms to the use of groups and organisations within Witney.  We still need to fundraise to furnish an fit out the new rooms.

Work on Phase 1 commences 28th May 2013.

Any donations can be sent to High Street Methodist Church, Witney OX28 5HG made out to 'HSMC Old School Building Appeal'.  Thank you for your support.

Project Update

Having received grants from WREN and West Oxfordshire District Council we are now evaluating tenders for phase 1 of the development of the Old School Building.  Phase 1 is the block across the back of the church buildings and will provide a downstairs room with outside space and two or three upstairs meeting rooms of offices.  Work is expected to start within the next few weeks.

Thank you for continuing to support this project!
