Davenport Road Methodist Church Witney
Whether you are visiting, newly arrived in Witney or have been living here for years, you are assured of a special welcome at our church. Since 1957 the people at this church have tried to provide a place where everyone can feel part of our wider family.
Together with the Church of England, we seek to serve the community in West Witney. A wide range of people of all ages, background and experience form our regular congregation (about 40 in the morning and 15 in the evening) and we offer a range of activities during the week.

Worship
Morning Worship 10.30 a.m.
At our main Sunday service the family of the church worship together for the first part of the service and then the under 14's leave for their own teaching groups. The first Sunday of the month is a family service which is planned, bearing in mind that all age groups are present for the whole service. A crèche is available at all services.

Evening Worship: 6 p.m.
In our evening service, we follow a more traditional format of hymns, prayers readings and sermon. There is no crèche.

Holy Communion
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated once a month in the morning and once a month in the evening.

Weekday Activities
First Steps Baby & Toddler Group
Every Thursday afternoon in term time the toddler group meets in the church hall from 3-4 p.m. It is for children aged up to 3 years together with their parents or grandparents. It gives the children an opportunity to socialise with others in a safe play area and the carers to have a sit down, a chat & a cup of tea/coffee.

Girls' Brigade
The Girls' Brigade is a Christian organisation for girls over 5 years of age. In addition to Christian teaching, they work for badges, play games, have outings and special events. It is a great way to make new friends, chat & relax and find out what God is offering young people. We meet from 6-7.30 p.m. every Friday evening in term time.

Fellowship Meetings
Every other Tuesday in term time at 7.30 p.m. A varied programme of events, including talks from visiting speakers, activities evenings, devotional services, members' evenings and suppers.

Tea & Chat
An opportunity to meet for a chat over a cup of tea/coffee between 3.30 & 4.30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month. There is some possibility of transport.
